INCAST Technologies

INCAST is focused on research into modeling and monitoring seismic properties during CO2 storage operations, but will also need to make technological advances in integrated simulation tools and data analysis methods to address key uncertainties in subsurface behavior prediction. These advances are particularly crucial for understanding how CO2 injection influences seismic responses and rock properties over time, enabling more accurate and reliable storage assessments.

Enhanced Coupled Modelling Tool

Integrate ParaGeo with PFLOTRAN and upgrade two-phase flow (CO2-brine) functionality for robust thermo-hydro-geomechanical simulations.

Seismic Property Modelling System

Implement enhanced functionality to enable the modelling of changes in seismic properties (e.g. 4D seismic, microseismic) during CO2 storage.

CO2 Storage Property Database and History-Matching Framework

Build property database required to model CO2 injection and its impact on stress and seismic properties, incorporating history matching methods based on 4D seismic, injection rates and pressures, with efficient parameter space testing capabilities.
